Encrypted Document Vault — Bank-Level Security

Your most sensitive documents deserve the strongest protection. DocFila's secure vault uses AES-256 encryption — the same standard trusted by banks, governments, and military organizations — to keep your files private. Unlock with biometrics, sync securely across devices, knowing that not even DocFila can access your encrypted data.

Security Features That Protect What Matters

DocFila's vault is engineered with multiple layers of protection. Your documents stay encrypted at rest, in transit, and in the cloud.

AES-256 Encryption

Every file stored in the vault is encrypted using AES-256, the Advanced Encryption Standard with a 256-bit key length. This is the strongest commercially available encryption algorithm, used by the U.S. government to protect classified information. Brute-forcing a 256-bit key is computationally infeasible with current and foreseeable technology — your documents are locked down.

Biometric Unlock

Access your vault instantly with Face ID, Touch ID, or your device's fingerprint sensor. Biometric authentication is faster than typing a password and more secure than a simple PIN. You can also set a master password as a backup method if biometrics are unavailable.

Secure Cloud Sync

Enable cloud sync to access your vault on every device — your iPhone, Android phone, tablet, and web browser. Files are encrypted on your device before they leave — the cloud server only ever stores ciphertext. If someone gains access to the server, they see encrypted blobs, not your documents.

Zero-Knowledge Architecture

DocFila operates on a zero-knowledge principle: your encryption keys are derived from your credentials on your device and are never transmitted to or stored on DocFila's servers. This means DocFila employees, server administrators, and even law enforcement with a subpoena cannot decrypt your files. Only you hold the key.

Auto-Lock

The vault automatically locks after a configurable period of inactivity — 1 minute, 5 minutes, or immediately when you leave the app. If your phone is lost or stolen, the vault is already locked, and without your biometrics or master password, the encrypted data is inaccessible.

Organized File Management

Inside the vault, organize your documents into folders and subfolders. Tag files with custom labels, search by name or date, and sort by type, size, or modification date. The vault supports PDFs, images, scans, contracts, IDs, and any other file type you need to protect.

What to Store in Your Secure Vault

The vault is designed for documents that require confidentiality, regulatory compliance, or personal privacy. Here are the most common use cases:

Identity Documents

Store digital copies of your passport, driver's license, national ID, Social Security card, and birth certificate. Having encrypted backups means you can access them instantly if the originals are lost or stolen — from any device, anywhere in the world.

Financial Records

Tax returns, bank statements, investment records, insurance policies, and mortgage documents contain sensitive financial information. The vault ensures these files are accessible only to you, meeting personal data protection best practices.

Medical Records

Keep vaccination records, prescriptions, lab results, insurance cards, and medical histories in a private, encrypted space. Access them instantly at doctor's appointments or pharmacies without carrying physical copies.

Legal & Business Documents

Signed contracts, NDAs, lease agreements, wills, power of attorney documents, and business licenses all belong in a secure vault. Store executed copies after e-signing to maintain a tamper-proof record.

Integrate with Your DocFila Workflow

The vault is deeply integrated with every DocFila tool. Scan a document and save it directly to the vault with one tap. Sign a contract and the executed copy is automatically stored in your encrypted vault. Export a finished resume and archive it alongside your certificates and transcripts. Edit a PDF and save the updated version to the vault, replacing the original.

Every document stored in the vault can be retrieved, shared, or exported at any time. Share individual files via encrypted links with expiration dates, or temporarily decrypt a file for viewing and let the vault re-encrypt it when you are done. Your privacy is the default state — sharing is always an explicit, conscious action.
